Bio

Hi! I'm a journalist, currently working as the editor of Eater New York — covering restaurants and everything about the culture and business of dining out in NYC. In 2017, I oversaw an investigation about the alleged sexual misconduct of celebrity chef Mario Batali and the culture at his restaurants. I also pitched and hosted the first two seasons of Cult Following, an Eater video series about restaurants that inspire obsession.

My work has appeared in New York, Esquire.com, the Atlantic's former news blog The Atlantic Wire, the Miami Herald, and papers across the country via the Associated Press. I previously worked as a reporter for now-defunct neighborhood news site DNAinfo in both Chicago and New York. I've covered everything from shootings and city council meetings to red carpets and viral sensations.

I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, where I failed to develop a Southern accent, and I'm a graduate of Northwestern University, where I helped launch an alternative news and culture website called NU Intel. It pissed off a lot of people, but it turns out that's okay.
